    My Very First Blog Entry...

    Friday, July 13, 2007, 05:36 PM [General]

    Welcome!

This is my very first blog entry. I'm very new to this concept of blogging -- so bear with me while I get used to this whole thing. My name is Linda Donalds, and I live in Lunenburg, Mass. My business is called "New Horizons in Hypnosis" (www.newhorizonsinhypnosis.com). I received my hypnotherapy certification from NGH in 1998, and have attended the annual convention every year since then. However it was only last summer, July 2006, when I finally took the leap by starting my business and working with my first clients (paying ones, that is). Currently I take clients on evenings and weekends, while I still work a full-time weekday job that pays the bills (for now, at least until I have a reasonably steady enough stream of clients coming each month). In February, I joined a local BNI Chapter (Business Networking Int'l), which has been very supportive and helpful in building my confidence around promoting my business. I'm looking forward to connecting now through OurHypnoSpace.com with other hypnotists who can support me to reach my dream of working full-time as a hypnotherapist.

    Thanks!

Hi Linda... good to see you're now on the move. Action has its rewards.

You may or may not know that I consult hypnotists for their success. I have an immediate freebie for you. Put your photo on your website.

Conversion rates increase when a viewer sees the person they may contact. The personal touch is necessary in emailing, copywriting and especially on a website. When you create a connection / relationship with people, they tend to buy from you.

Okay, a second freebie - Call to Action right up front. Phone number at the top of the website so people don't need to search.

I would have this in place of the mountain graphic:

Call New Horizons in Hypnosis to Make an Appointment! (508) 246-2721
For an example of what I mean check out one of my websites www.abetteryouhypnosis.com

Hello Linda, and welcome! I started out much the same way in 1989. I kept my day job and started gradually cutting back as I built a client base, and more importantly, a reputation.

Once you have a steady stream of clients coming in think about what you can do for a passive income. I have written 15 books for hypnotherapists so I can help others and make money even if clients don't call for a bit.

I built my practice by teaching workshops. That way people could learn about hypnosis in a class setting. They often booked private appointment following the class with the comment that they wouldn't have come for a private session if they hadn't taken the class first. I'll have my teaching materials at the NGH convention. Stop by, take a look and introduce yourself.

    Linda,
Welcome to this space. Your website is clean and nice and I like the blue. I use a lot of blue on my site but it is more like "Bockbuster" blue.
